Brewster Pratap are currently partnering with The Childrens Hospital Charity in Sheffield to recruit a Head of Fundraising. The Children's Hospital Charity makes Sheffield Children's Hospital even better! As one of just four standalone children's hospitals in the UK, Sheffield Children's Hospital sees children from all over the region, the country and beyond. 

The Children's Hospital Charity exists to keep the hospital's specialist services special by raising funds for projects that are over and above standard NHS provision.

Thanks to the generosity of their supporters, The Children's Hospital Charity has been able to deliver life-saving medical equipment. They now need a passionate and inspired Head of Fundraising to lead the fundraising team and develop the charity's fundraising strategy as they prepare to embark on a new series of major fundraising projects. 

The job

  • Responsible for income generation - Planning, Delivery and Strategy 
  • To lead on maximise net income from all income streams with a focus on developing long term repetitive annual income and strategic partnerships 
  • To use Fundraising to engage key individuals across the Sheffield City Region to act as informal ambassadors for the Charity, using your own networks and contacts to help grow income and brand awareness 
  • To passionately and creatively lead the Fundraising team in generating annual activity plans to deliver income in line with the income strategy 
  • Lead, develop and implement budget planning and reporting systems 
  • Maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the team by refining existing management systems and processes
  • Provide support and effective management and leadership to the fundraising team, to enable them to achieve their individual income targets and excel within their roles
  • Represent the Charity at external events and activities, giving talks, presentations, as required 
  • As a member of the Senior Team, contribute to the Charity's business strategy and operational planning 

The person

  • Education to degree level or equivalent 
  • Be able to provide evidence of continuing fundraising and leadership development
  • Extensive experience working at a Senior Management level in a large complex organisation
  • Experience of working with Boards and Senior Executives
  • Ability to demonstrate innovative approaches 
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience of effective budgetary management control, including achieving annual targets on a regular basis 
  • Entrepreneurial, creative approach to developing mutually beneficial partnerships 
  • Ability to quickly identify opportunities and turn them into positive outcomes 
  • Political awareness
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK
